{"id":80,"date":"2010-03-31T18:19:50","date_gmt":"2010-03-31T18:19:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mitchelburneclub.co.uk\/site\/?page_id=80"},"modified":"2014-05-28T19:54:29","modified_gmt":"2014-05-28T19:54:29","slug":"grange-corner","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.mitchelburneclub.co.uk\/site\/?page_id=80","title":{"rendered":"Grange Corner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Grange Corner Branch Club was formed and received its Charter in Taylorstown Orange Hall, Grange, Toomebridge on Saturday 17<sup>th<\/sup> June 1967.\u00a0 The 13 founding members were: Fred Dowie; John Bates; Robert Bates; John McCullough; Robert J. Kerr; Gordon Rainey; Robert John Kilpatrick; James McKee; Thomas Harris; Robert Chesney; James Leecocke; Hugh Lamont; and Samuel MmcDowell.\u00a0 New collarettes and a banner were dedicated the day before their first outing at the Relief Anniversary Celebrations in Londonderry on 12<sup>th<\/sup> August 1967.\u00a0 The Club was accompanied by Grange Corner True Blues Flute Band.<\/p>\n<p>November 1967 meeting it was agreed to hold an Annual Church Service which for many years alternated between Grange Presbyterian Church and Ballyscullion Parish Church.<\/p>\n<p>Bro. John Bates served as Secretary of the Club for the first 20 years of the Clubs existence.<\/p>\n<p>Grange Corner True Blues Flute Band accompanied the Club up until 1987 when the band folded.\u00a0 Since then the Club has employed the services of a number of bands including Ballee Blues &amp; Royals Flute Band (Ballymena), Cloughmills Crown Defenders Flute Band, Glenhugh Flute Band (Ahoghill) and more recently Staffordstown Accordion Band (Randalstown).<\/p>\n<p>July 1988 The Club unfurled its current banner which depicts the Closing of The Gates on one side and the Bible and Crown on the other side.\u00a0 The old banner was presented to Cavan Browning Club in 1989.<\/p>\n<p>1997 a new Crimson Flag was purchased to commemorate the Club\u2019s 30<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary and the Club held a special Anniversary Dinner in the Deerpark Hotel, Antrim.<\/p>\n<p>2007 the Club produced a special limited edition jewel to commemorate the Club\u2019s 40<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>The Club meets on the last Tuesday night of each month in Talorstown Orange Hall.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Grange Corner Branch Club was formed and received its Charter in Taylorstown Orange Hall, Grange, Toomebridge on Saturday 17th June 1967.\u00a0 The 13 founding members were: Fred Dowie; John Bates; Robert Bates; John McCullough; Robert J.
