Mitchelburne Day – Saturday 18th September 2010

Mitchelburne Day will begin with a parade leaving Rossdowney Park at 11 am sharp making its way though the Waterside and across Craigavon Bridge to The Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall, Society Street. View Full Parade Route

Initiation of new candidates will take place in the Apprentice Boys room at approx 12.30pm followed by tea in the Upper Hall at 2pm. The rest of the afternoon will be taken up by tours of the new Apprentice Boys Museum, St Columbs Cathedral and the historic City Walls.

All Apprentice Boys welcome.

Mitchelburne Day is over for another year!
There were approximately 170 on parade including the Parent Club, various branch clubs, members from other Parent Clubs and the Pride of the Orange and Blue “Auld Boys” Flute Band. Eight new candidates were initiated into the Mitchelburne Club, two for the Parent Club and six for the Ballymoney, Blaugh and Articlave Branch Clubs. The Annual visitation to the graves of Col Micthelbune and Col Murray in conjunction with the mUrray Parent Club will take place today (Sunday 19th September 2010).

Twenty new candidates for the Mitchelburne Club

The Mitchelburne Club initiated twenty new members into its ranks at a special Club Initiation Meeting on Friday night, 13th August 2010.

Mitchelburne attends Annual Relief of Derry Celebrations in Londonderry 2010

The Mitchelburne club were in attendance at the Apprentice Boys Annual Relief of Derry celebrations in Londonderry on Saturday 14th August 2010. It has been reported 138 bands and Apprentice Boys clubs were on parade. The planned white line protest by dissident republicans was cancelled and the parade passed off peacefully.

Ballymoney Mitchelburne 80th Anniversary Church Parade

The Ballymoney Branch of the Mitchelburne Apprentice Boys Club will be holding an 80th Anniversary Church Parade on Sunday 1st August 2010. Please assemble at Ballymoney Orange Hall at 5.15 pm. Parade will be led by Drumaheagles Young Defenders FB to St Patrick’s Parish Church for Service at 6.00 pm conducted by the Rev JJ Cunningham. All visiting brethren welcome.

Mitchelburne Parent Club for the May Rally 2010

11 members from the Mitchelburne Parent Club attended the annual SAC May Rally in Scotland this year. The parade was held in Glasgow this year and was hosted by the Possilpark Murray Club. This year our trip included a tour of Ibrox stadium, the home of Glasgow Rangers Football Club. The Parent Club rotates between our three Scottish branch clubs to parade with, this year it was the turn of Laurieston and Southside. Click here to view some photos from our trip.

New candidates for Grange Corner Mitchelburne Club

On the 1st March 2010 at the usual monthly meeting of the Mitchelburne Parent Club, six new candidates were initiated into the Apprentice Boys organisation and the Grange Corner Mitchelburne Branch Club.
